afraid of the dark, afraid of the light.

as a child…i don’t think i was ever afraid of the dark… just afraid of how long it seemed to be around. those short days were an eternity.  we don’t do well with short days. not at all. so we light candles and turn on lights  and throw some logs in that fireplace. turns out it’s actually really peaceful, yet disturbing and beautiful. but no matter how much we light it up, we still dislike the dark. really really dislike it.
i’m just so glad these days will get longer again….because no matter what you may say… this shining light inside of me is…well… it’s a little dim right now.
we put up the winter holiday xmas lights this week… oooof! too much electricity… and the ‘caution’ signs always trip me out. ‘caution’ on the candles, on the lights, and even on the logs we bought at the supermarket. wth!? maybe we should just wait for the sun. :) happy solstice… yep.

lights up! (with caution)
